Rather than sensing light like a standard camera, the Flir line of thermal imagers
sense and display heat. They detect the tiny differences in the heat in front of
them 24 hours a day, through smoke, in total darkness, and at ranges far beyond
daylight or infrared illuminated cameras.
Unlike night vision cameras that require low amounts of light to generate an image,
thermal cameras need no light at all. These cameras easily integrate into any
existing CCTV system.
The Flir VSR-6 extremely short-range fixed, un-cooled thermal camera includes the
same imaging technology available in all Flir’s sophisticated security and
surveillance systems, but is intended for users who have short-range surveillance in
mind. The VSR-6 is lightweight and includes a wide-angle lens, to secure a wide
area.
For high-resolution security, the Flir PTZ 35 MS (Nexus) thermal camera is ideal.
This small multi-sensor imager has both a pan and a tilt feature, making it fully
adjustable. It includes a standard high-resolution low-light video camera, all
rolled up into this weather tight enclosure.
The FlashSight Handheld Thermal Imaging Camera is ideal for imaging in the field,
for fire protection or protection from potential perpetrators. This shock-resistant
device provides clear imagery through total darkness, fog, smoke, and most visual
obscurants. As well as having a bellows eyecup so that the observer can stay out of
sight, it also stores images for evidence gathering.
